Gambling Rewires Your Brain

diceRecent research studies in psychology, neuroscience, and genetics have demonstrated that gambling addiction and drug addiction are far more similar than once believed. In fact experts now redefine addiction as “repeated pursuing a rewarding experience despite serious repercussions.” This has inspired therapists to pursue treatment modalities that are more like those for drug addictions, and that are more efficacious for the compulsive gambler.
